I just wanted to personally thank you for what an incredible time we had at FamFest. Over 300 people in attendance, 6 food trucks, 23 vendors, and tons of fun listening to Monarch. Monarch is the best band in Amarillo and is an absolute joy to host. They show up, do their job, are thankful for the opportunity, and make it really fun in the process. I can't say enough good things about them. If you are having an event, I would encourage you to contact Monarch. You won't regret it.
This year we had 23 sponsors, up from 21 last year. We're thankful to everyone who chose to be a sponsor and support the work we do. Also, our board and volunteers did a great job of making FamFest a success. We had over 15 volunteers who gave their time to make FamFest happen. Given that we have a small staff at Mission Amarillo, we are dependent on volunteers to make anything we do a success. Our board and volunteers came through in a big way this year and we couldn't be more thankful.
Last of all, I'm thankful for those of you who attended. It's good to know that our community supports what we do. Our work here at Mission Amarillo can be tough, with tons of ups and downs each day. The long term success of those we serve takes a long term commitment that can often get tiresome and difficult to endure. When we put on an event like FamFest and people show up and participate, it encourages to stay the course because we know our community supports us. Of course, Mission Amarillo would not exist without the love and direction of Jesus. He established this ministry and any successes we have we owe solely to Him. It is our hearts desire to provide practical help to those we serve, all the while showing and speaking of the love and faith of Jesus in the process.
